Oh wow, oh wow. I adored this. I literally was laughing like a loon at bits. I could completely see how each of the characters were changed by the AU and still themselves. This was the best thing I've read in ages.

This is absolutely awesome. I've only seen like three eps of SGA, but I read fic when a story or a good-sounding rec crosses my Flist, and I'm very glad icarusancalion recced this. :D I love your John and his total lack of any kind of social skills, your quiet-hiding-awkward Teyla, the whole Ronon triangle thing, the knitting, the pudding, and all the little bits that made me giggle while I was reading this. Great job. :D

Thank you so much! Wow, now I can say that people who don't even like SGA liked it...

My roommate just knocked on my door to ask if I was okay, because I was kind of making sobbing noises. They must think I'm insane.

This was, like, entirely made of awesome.

I hope they were good sobs...? :-) Thanks for reading!

I enjoyed the writing, I enjoyed how neurotic John was, I ESPECIALLY like how Runner!Teyla was portrayed. I ususally avoid het fic like the plague, but this one I'm probably going to read over and over.

Hilarious, creative and sweet. I can't even tell you how many times I cracked up. The fern incident in particular had me in stitches. And I love John's mom. And Sumner's knitting. And Rod's Rodness. And Katie's prudishness. And the explanations for the badassness of Teyla's friends. So, everything, really. Thanks for sharing this!

Thank you for commenting! The fern incident was a spur-of-the-moment addition to make that segment just that much more screwy.

I don't think I've enjoyed a story quite this much in way too long a time. :) I loved the character voices, the romance, and I laughed which is awesome.

This is now one of my favorite Mensa!verse stories. Perhaps my single favorite. Yes. Quite fun, and loved the sprinklings of Rodney and our John in this John, and the sprinklings of our Ronon in Teyla. And poor misunderstanding Keller, hee.

Thanks! I love playing around with Rod's vague descriptions of the Mensaverse team. And Jennifer just needed someone to explain things to her. :-)

Ok. I don't even really get this fandom, and was linked here by the friend of a friend of a friend.

But your story. Is freakin'. FANTASTIC. I loved the humor and the characterizations and the attempts at flirtation.

Also, it's totally quotable.
"Hi. Dr. John Sheppard. I like football, Ferris wheels and anything with an explosive yield over two hundred kilotons."

You're terrific.

Thanks! Although the line you quote is a play off one of the lines in the real!series pilot, not my own creation.

Here on an insta-rec from amothea and omfg. I've only gotten as far as "It was probably about the third time that they nearly woke up the Wraith that the Athosian council decided to adopt the expedition, sort of like how John's math teachers used to make him sit next to the slow kids" but I had to stop right away and come leave feedback because -- because -- because this is awesome! Every single word. Awesome. And my day is crazy busy and so is tomorrow and then it's the work week and I figured there was a chance that if I didn't get my feedback in now, there wouldn't be any room for mine when I finished the story.

I love that it's set in Rod!verse, and I love what you're doing with that 'verse, the way the details give a terrific view of the whole without ever being expository. This is something I struggle with in my own writing, and I'm just really impressed by how skilled you are with this.

Also, the character voices are terrific. They're different but still the same -- different circumstances forge different people but still recognizably the people we love from the show, it's perfect how you manage it.

Just.

I am crazy in love with this story. *goes back to continue reading*

Thank you! If that's how you review the first couple pages, I'm almost afraid of what you'll say when you're done. ;-)

That was amazing. I normally don't like het, but the way you dealt with the AU team was amazing and John and Teyla's relationship just so sweet. I think I wouldn't mind seeing more Ronon/Melena/Jennifer action either.

Thanks! I don't normally write much het either, but I had a blast with this one.

I think it's incredible how you took Rod and figured out all the other characters from just meeting him. John was adorably funny and Rod was perfect Rod. And it was hilarious.
