Loved this story! You've woven a full-grown character out of a couple of hints from canon. It was fascinating to see Kaleb's pov and I loved the interweaving of Gawain & the Green Knight. A fab Christmas story; thanks for writing it.

Yay, thank you! Kaleb was my way to write a Green Knight crossover with SGA. (laughing)

Wonderful Kaleb POV, you don't see much of that and it was lovely.

And I wondered why not, once I began writing-- seems so very obvious..well, NOW anyway. (grinning) I'm glad you enjoyed,

Loved this.
I especially liked Jeannie's acknowledgement of just how incredible and outside real life the SGA world really is. I mean we know it is, because it's sci fi, but I loved how it was brought home so deftly by Kaleb's reaction to events. A wonderful story told in a very clever and intersting way.

Aw, good! Thank you so much. It was interesting coming around to this world from the other side. Or inside out. Or something. :)

This was fantastic. I loved seeing the team and McKay through Kaleb's eyes. And Rodney showing some of that genius by interpreting things through Kaleb's chosen lens of middle English lit. Just lovely.

I loved this! I've got a thing for outsider POV anyway, since I get to fall in love with the team over and over again. Your Kaleb is awesome.

Yay! what an apt way to pinpoint the appeal of the outsider viewpoint. yes and yes. (hee: although I always remember a friend and fellow fan telling me I only loved Rodney because he wasn't my problem.. And it's quite possible she has a point there...)

Really nicely done. I enjoyed seeing Kaleb's perspective on Rodney and the team, and the glimpses of what the team actually goes through.

so glad you enjoyed! I've always loved stories that drop the team into suburbia.

Mmmmm. Enjoyed the outsider POV very much, & the unusual interactions between Kaleb & Rodney. I think it's particularly interesting that, in spite of seeing a therapist, it never occurs to Kaleb (or Jeannie, apparently) that he has PTSD. Even the flashbacks & extreme disassociation just make him think he's weak! Ronon & Rodney notice though, & Rodney even remembers Kaleb's nightmares — guess he doesn't entirely dismiss "the English major" without a thought. :-)

There are so many things to like about this "home-from-home" fic; thanks very much for writing & sharing it with us!

well sure Rodney thinks about the English major! (hee) Doesn't like him, but dammit, he's there all the same.

Thanks for reading!

Aww, that's adorable - I love your Kaleb, trying to deal with the wild magic of the SGA world with only real life and his stories to draw on. And that he knows John and Rodney are together when Jeannie missed it, hee. Just delightful!

This was great! I loved seeing a story from Kaleb's POV, and you worked in the themes from Gawain really well.
